About Paula
Paula Condon is a Meanjin (Brisbane) based emerging artist currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Studio Art at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. Paula has a history of working in health-related industry and this informs the basis of many of her artistic endeavours.
Paula's artistic practice is currently focused on drawing, painting, and sculpture. Many of Paula's artworks extend from performance-based work. Her drawing and sculpture practice examines the body in the domestic space, its absurdity and awkwardness. In contrast, her painting practice draws on a variety of conceptual explorations and is currently investigating layers of memory connected to nostalgic patterns. Paula is interested in dissolving the boundaries between drawing, painting and sculpture. Underpinning these conceptual explorations are ongoing material investigations ensuring her practice continues to evolve.
Paula has exhibited in the group exhibitions Fifty Shades of Life: Exploring the World of Monochrome at the Webb Gallery in 2022, and Reality Bites at the Project Gallery in 2020, Queensland College of Art, Southbank.
